settembre 29, 2022

Outdoor activities like hunting, hiking, shooting or taking the dogs for a good run around up hill and down dale are fantastic pursuits and one of the best ways to spend your time… as long as you have all the appropriate gear and equipment to ensure you only ever enjoy yourself!

High-quality footwear is an absolute must for such worthy endeavours, reducing injury risks to feet and ankles by giving you all the support you need to take on rough terrain.

This is where our Osprey boots come into their own! You’ll get all the protection and comfort you need to take your outdoorsy lifestyle to the next level.

Here’s all you need to know and more…

What are Osprey boots?

Osprey boots are perfect for countryside use, specifically designed to stand up incredibly well against all the pressures put upon them by outdoor living. They offer style and comfort, with unparalleled sole and ankle support, making them highly versatile and well suited to lots of different activities.

Style-wise, they’re handcrafted out of the finest leather around (available in various different colours), featuring double buckles and a leather cuff that wraps around the shin (for extra ankle and lower leg support), as well as a bellows tongue that’s the same thickness as the upper for excellent water resistance and fit.

Treble stitching means that they can cope with whatever conditions you’ll likely come across and they’re sustainably produced using only locally sourced materials, with the leather a byproduct from the meat industry, treated in high-grade tanneries. The sole unit is also repairable, so you can really get the most out of your investment.

Quite simply, these are boots that are made to last!

How do we make our Osprey boots?

We only work with family-run artisan factories in Spain to produce our Osprey collections, working closely with British designer Hannah Stiles to ensure that our customers only ever receive long-lasting, high-quality country boots.

Techniques used for boot construction include:

Goodyear welting

Here, bootmakers attach the outer sole to the upper parts of the boot using a welt to ensure that the end products are water resistant. These soles can easily be replaced once they’ve worn out, as well.

Stormwelting

Similarly, a wider welt is used so that it can be bent upwards to create a seal around the upper and middle sole junction, providing more moisture protection than ever.

Materials used for boot construction include:

Sympatex fabric

This is eco-friendly, recyclable and biodegradable, made using hydrophilic polyether-ester polymer. This will keep your feet dry and warm when out and about in wet weather.

Vibram soles

These are our top choice for our boots as they can withstand prolonged use and rough terrains, while keeping you comfortable for hours on end.

(Note that for our other boots, we use Texalive lining and Dainite soles for best results.)
